home-alt4Curtis Salgado

November 22 - 9pm

$15 Cover in advance

$18 at the door

Curtis Salgado has a lot to celebrate. Two years ago he was diagnosed with liver cancer and told he had eight months to live, unless he got a liver transplant which would generate medical bills upwards of half a million dollars. With no health insurance and few funds, the man who is one of America's finest blues/soul singers needed a little help from his friends. When your friends and admirers include the likes of Steve Miller, Robert Cray, Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal, you've got a fighting chance. Numerous benefits were held in multiple cities including a benefit concert featuring Miller, Cray, Taj Mahal, The Phantom Blues Band, Everclear and Little Charlie & The Nightcats.

December 27th

 9pm - $5 Cover

Perhaps the late great Paul Delay said it best about Ty Curtis: “He plays it like a young man should—straight ahead and from the heart.” Northwest blues fans agree, filling the dance floors at Mac’s, Lefty’s, Rogue Brewery, the Oregon Garden, Roadhouse 101, and Chinook Winds Casino. They have opened for Curtis Salgado and for Paul deLay and performed on air for KMHD radio in Portland. In July 2007, the band made their debut at the Waterfront Blues Festival earning a standing ovation from the crowd. The summer of 2007 also included bookings at Corvallis’ DaVinci Days, the Eugene Celebration, Silverton Art Fair, Bones & Brews, KMHD’s Summer Bash and the Oregon State Fair. Meanwhile, the band’s CD, Stubborn Mind, has been receiving air play on KRVM, KLCC, KBOO, KMHD and KINK. And the CD was recently selected to represent the Cascade Blues Association in the Blues Foundation’s Best Self Produced CD competition for 2008. Not a bad start for a young band. As Greg Johnson, president of the Cascade Blues Association, said, “If you don’t know the name Ty Curtis now, remember it. I definitely foresee success in this band’s future.”

Saturday, January 10 - 9pm

$5 Cover - High energy rock, blues & soul

The B-side…  The term instantly evokes memories of the beloved 45 single and the song tucked away on the far side of the record. From time to time, the B-side would pleasantly surprise you as it matched or surpassed its popular counterpart on side A. And from time to time, a band just as surprising comes along and knocks your socks off with a one-two punch of great rocking blues and unsurpassed delivery. This is that band.
